ABOUT

Nikki Tran is a Melbourne-based creative who has worked across digital, film and television as an independent producer, screenwriter and in-house development executive.

As a producer, her latest project is a micro-drama CEEBS created by Betiel Beyin and Leigh Lule, an unhinged comedy on TikTok about two best friends in a race to save their youth centre from imminent closure. Her other credits include Mandarin-English interpreting comedy GIRL, INTERPRETED (2020) created by writer/director Grace Feng, acquired by China’s streaming giants Tencent Video and iQiyi; FRESH! (2018) a digital series centring on vendors of a fresh food market; and ABC iView’s factual series CAN YOU HEAR ME?.

In her recent role as Development Producer at Fremantle Australia, Nikki ushered a diverse slate of projects from concept to market including adult drama, adaptation, as well as YA and kid’s television. Nikki’s screenwriting credits include ABC ME’s tween political series THE PM’s DAUGHTER and an upcoming Foxtel/Fremantle adult drama.

In story and development, Nikki has worked with ABC Drama & Comedy, Matchbox Pictures, Tony Ayres Productions, 2Jons and VicScreen. Her creative practice has received generous support from VicScreen’s Screen Development Internship, Footscray Community Arts’ West Writers, Malthouse Theatre's Writers' Development program, AFTRS Talent Camp, and State Library of Victoria’s Creative Fellowship.
