Nikki is a writer and screen producer based in Melbourne, Australia currently undertaking a residency at acmi X.
Nikki works with local councils and community organisations on video-based arts projects, and currently participates in Footscray Community Arts Centre's West Writers program, a professional development initiative for creative writers.
She has a background in media and communication at RMIT University, and specialised at the Victorian College of the Arts with a Master of Producing. She was awarded as VCA's Producer of the Year for her work on two graduate short films In Dust and Ashes and Smash the State.
In 2014, Nikki was sponsored by Film Finances Inc as an international participant at Telluride Film Festival's Student Symposium in Colorado, joining other North American students for a week of curated screenings and discussions with festival guests.
Her short film screenplay When We Run, based on family stories of fleeing Vietnam in the 1970s, was awarded as a 2016 finalist in the BlueCat Screenplay Competition.
Nikki's latest production is FRESH! a comedy web series set at a local market, which tackles racial tensions, gentrification and what it means to belong in a community struggling with modern life, big business and each other.
