Nikki Tran is a writer and producer based in Melbourne, Australia. She is drawn to projects that combine genre with culturally and emotionally truthful storytelling. 

Her short film screenplay WHEN WE RUN, about a young girl's journey in post-war Vietnam, was awarded as a 2016 finalist in the BlueCat Screenplay Competition.

Nikki works with local council and community on video-based arts projects, and currently a member Footscray Community Arts Centre's West Writers. Her show SIDEKICKED, produced and written alongside fellow West Writers members, was awarded Best Words and Ideas Show at 2017 Melbourne Fringe.

Recently, Nikki participated in the Talent Camp program in Victoria, a diversity and inclusion initiative for emerging screen practitioners supported by AFTRS, Film Victoria and Screen Australia. 

Her latest production is FRESH!, a dramedy web series set in a local fresh food market where staff grapple with family, fickle customers and a shiny new supermarket across the road.

Nikki will read an excerpt of her new project PANACEA as part of 2017 Digital Writers' Festivals' program West Meets West.
